Scanpan is manufactured from 250 tons of pressurised aluminium which eliminates hot spots and prevents the base from warping or buckling. The thick base also distributes the heat quickly and evenly. Heat is retained for longer which to also save energy.
The surface is manufactured from ceramic titanium and a non-stick compound (chemical free) which is heated to approximately 20,000C then liquefies. This anchors it to the aluminium. The surface becomes part of the body and will not blister or come off. The surface enables cooking without oil and the V-shaped handles are designed to keep them cooler for longer. Scanpans are now available for use on all hobs with the introduction of the CTX range which is compatible with induction cookers. Its is also safe to use them with metal utensils.
